High heat extraction (hot water extraction / steam cleaning) injects hot water and cleaning solution deep into carpet fibers, then immediately extracts it along with dissolved dirt, allergens, and bacteria. The heat kills bacteria and dust mites that cold-water cleaning misses. It's considered the most effective carpet cleaning method by most manufacturers.
